Patristics In English Project New Translations Page
This is the page for new translations. If you know some Latin why not give it a shot. The only rule we have is that everything you translate and post be allowed to fall into the public domain.
First Steps
- On this page: image_logo_url put just the url for the logo.
- Add the url for your wiki to the Categorized wiki list. Simply edit that page and put your wiki under the appropriate category.
- To increase the amount of space you have for uploads, add links to this site from external sites, and go to the Link Quota Page to increase your uploads quota.
Other optional things to do
- Edit MediaWiki:Sidebar to change the navigation menu
- Add this wiki to some external wiki indexes:
- Read the User's Guide for other usage and configuration help.
- Add your wiki to the map of wikis

What is a wiki?
A wiki is a editable website that acts as a groupware tool that allows people to collaborate and share information in one location. For more info, check out the wikipedia article.
You can host your own wiki here for:
- Research
- Personal Websites
- Brainstorming
- Strategic Planning
- Class Discussion
- Software Help Systems
- ... and the list goes on.
New Features!
- Google maps markup:
<googlemap lat="40.78990" lon="-74.478799" zoom="15" controls="small" width="300" height="200"> 40.78990,-74.478799, EditThis.info 41.719398, -087.947617, Wikitheus 40.807, -73.962, Columbia Review of Books 140.00074803829193, 35.767355586087135, [1]
</googlemap>
- Add yourself to the map of wikis
- For every url you have link to your wiki, you get 5 MB of storage (up to 25MB). To add to your quota, go to the Link Quota Page
- - Math markup. Go go Help:Math for syntax. <m>delim{|}{{1/N} sum{n=1}{N}{gamma(u_n)} - 2/{2 pi} int{0}{2 pi}{gamma(t) dt}}{|} <= varepsilon/3</m>
Coming Feature
- Wiki Templates - I currently clone new wikis of a standard wiki, but it would be better to have ones for different purposes, such as a prebuilt personal or class wiki. Right now I just have some basic models, but feel free to add and improve on them.
Feedback and Contributions...
- Feedback - Let me know how this service can be improved. This page also has solutions given to past problems. If you have a problem, you may want to look here first.
- Far out suggestions - Pie-in-the-sky-ideas of what you would love to see here. Doesn't need to be realistic in any sort of way, it just needs to start with the phrase "I wish that..."

News
February, 2006
- 6th - Added google maps support and up to 25 MB of free storage
- 3rd -500 wikis and still growing! Not too bad for a three week old :) To celebrate I added the ability to have math equations in your wikis.
January, 2006
- 30th - Hang on folks.... I think we just hit profitability! In the third week of existence, the system has reached a point where the daily income from ads projected for a year would be twice my hosting costs. This makes no allowance for the continual growth I have experience, but assumes instead the conservative measure where my growth would flat-line based on last week's average. To project growth at this point would be silly since things grow so fast at the beginning, but it is nice to know that even the most conservative of measures puts me in the black. Now to get to work on that news aggregator I have been meaning to work on.
- 29th - To make things a little faster I put the creation form on the front page. I also sped up the creation time and decreased the chances of the wiki failing to be created. Happy Sunday!
- 22nd - lots of little things, such as the top five on the main page and some minor programming improvements. Spam protection is back on, and I took away its teeth. It will no longer block IPs, it just prevents them from posting identified bad stuff. I now have spam words list to filter out spam.
- Just realized I can't add to the spam words page without being identified as a spammer :) I will have to code to exclude that.
- 20th - added a premium service. Right now it just gets rid of ads and provides faster email support. New features are in the pipe. Oh, and I made a full dollar off of google ads :) Well maybe this might pay for itself one day.
- 15th - Cyn from Favorville has sent a new icon for the wiki. Thanks Cyn.
- 14th - I guess the spam guard has been a little too tough recently. It has banned a couple users so I removed it for the time being.
- 13th - kosse replied to a posting I made on Favorville, and he sent me a new logo for the site. Thanks!
- 12th - image_logo_url now works. Just set the content of the page to be the url of the image you want in the upper left corner.
- 11th - Just upgraded the system to the newest version of MediaWiki version 1.5.5
- 10th- Some of you may have noticed that changing image_logo_url doesn't actually change the logo for the site. This is because I haven't set up the system to do this yet, but I will in a little while. You should still change this for you logo, so when I get it working your logo will automatically appear.
- 9th - New system set up and tested out. Seems pretty good so far.
