Mario, is the main protoganist in all of the Paper Mario games. In all games, although Super Paper Mario is not an RPG, he obtains help from other characters and items. Mario is the main character in Paper mario, Paper mario 2, and Super paper mario.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

In Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door, the X-Nauts captured Princess Peach and Mario saves her. And in Paper mario Bowser captures Peach and eventually Mario saves her again.

Super Paper Mario

In Super Paper Mario, Mario is with Peach, Luigi, and surprisingly, Bowser, on this new quest. He uses the powers of Pixls to his advantage, and gets along smoothly.
