The daughter and eldest child of Owen and Rhianwen Chandler, Nimuë Rosamund Chandler is a pureblood, second year Ravenclaw. She grew up in Wales at Cannwyll Ogof, the Chandler family home with her younger twin brother, Gillichu. She tends to be shrewd and calculating, both of which are personality traits that can put other people off. She rarely loses her cool, though Gillichu can easily manage to push her buttons every time.

Personality
Possessing a strong and somewhat overbearing personality, Nimuë's goal in life is to obtain a position which allows her to hold and wield power behind the scenes. To this end, she strives to use her time at Hogwarts to form connections that will serve her well later in life. Though she tends to be a strong and faithful friend, she's not above using her friendship to achieve her own goals, and her calculating personality can be off-putting at times. Still, she's more a leader than a follower, needing to be in control of the situation as much as possible.
Strengths, Weaknesses, and Fears
Nimuë excels at Charms, particularly jinxes, hexes, and curses – though her adeptness at these may be because of her short temper and unforgiving nature. Aside from Charms, Nimuë does slightly above-average work in Transfiguration and Potions, and average work in History of Magic and Herbology. Though a second year, she already has a basic understanding of the principles of Divination, having been taught them by her mother as a child. She is woefully inadequate when it comes to Defense Against the Dark Arts... possibly because she would much rather attack than defend, though no one has ever bothered to confirm this. Outside of schoolwork, Nimuë has a shrewd and somewhat calculating personality, which can get her into trouble just as easily as it can get her out of it.
A girl who tries hard to form connections that will serve her well later in life, Nimuë fears not being accepted by others, and for this reason goes out of her way much of the time to be on good terms with everyone she meets. Success is very important to Nimuë, she avoids people who might keep her from it (such as Kittu Mathur).
Family, Etc.
As a child, most of Nimuë's playmates were her cousins (all older than her), though she did meet other wizarding children on occasion at her parents' social events. She gets on well with her family (her distant cousin Nimue Covey in particular, despite the fact that they have practically the same names), with the exception of her brother, whom few of the Chandlers really understand. In her first year, Nimuë started working on the fine old family tradition of world domination through business connections, and she continues to work on this now. Gillichu likes to say that she's a Mistress of Evil in training, but really – Nimuë just knows how to play the system.
Like most Chandlers, Nimuë has been trained since early childhood (read: age three) in Divination, as there is a tendency for Seeing talent to run in the family, as exemplified by her cousin Reginald, the current Divination professor at Hogwarts.
