Tristina Darcy

Tristina is very much the ‘cliché’ Hufflepuff, but in odd ways. She has the two biggest traits of the house, of course loyalty and is very hardworking. Even if it’s a course that she despises, she works her butt off to keep herself afloat. Same goes for every aspect of her life. She’s open-minded and very trustworthy. Tristina tends to shy up a little around people she doesn’t know… but not much. Mostly, she’s a friendly and outgoing girl, but only completely open and honest with her closest friends

Magically, she’s best at Potions and Charms. She adores both classes and sees them, along with Transfiguration, as being the most useful out of everything. She’s decent at Divination when she wants to be/tries, but is only mildly interested by the subject.

She’s horribly cynical and pessimistic, since her past is… well, less than pleasant. Tristina has a weakness for her friends as well—she’s practically loyal to the grave. She’s willing to do anything and everything for their comfort and safety. She tends to be a bit too honest sometimes and her lack of thinking before speaking can get her into trouble. She doesn’t trust people easily and tends to not be very forward and completely open with any people outside of her closest friends. Losing her parents made her a bit weary of trusting outside folk. Yes, she’s kind and outgoing, but it takes quite a bit for her to get really close to anyone.

Magically, she’s horrid at the ‘logic’ classes. Anything she may still be in that’s not a wandwork/potions class ,is because of tutoring she may have gotten from friends. Her Arithmancy and Ancient Runes skills are completely non-existent, and, she’s also horrible at Herbology. She kills every plant she touches.

History

Well, as stated, Tristina was born into a Pureblood family, and was happy for years. Unlike some of her friends, her parents had learned to accept different bloodlines, something that would eventually lead to their deaths. When living, they worked in a small restaurant they owned together, and were quite the happy family. Their deaths affected Trista greatly.

Growing up, she was always a bit on the shy and quiet side. She never went out of her way to be friendly to lots of people, preferring the company of those she was closest to already, and her pets. While she wasn’t social, she always made it a point to be friendly and kind. She has always been soft-spoken and well mannered as well, with a sense of being laid back and empathetic. She played with most kids her age and thought nothing strange of Muggleborns, Halfbloods… anyone. They were all the same in her eyes.

One day, after going home from her best friend’s house, she found a relative in the home her parents owned. The relative told her no details of what had happened, just that her parents were gone, and she would have to live in a new home. Being very elitist, nobody in the rest of the family wanted anything to do with a Muggle-lover, so she was shipped to an orphanage, eventually adopted by a Muggle family. Kind as that family was, they were never fully accepting of magic, and essentially, cut off her contact with the wizarding world. It wasn’t until, after receiving her letter and much begging and pleading, she was allowed to attend Hogwarts. All of this led her to become withdrawn and… well, cynical and pessimistic. She never really looked on the ‘bright’ side of things after that.

At school, she was sorted into Hufflepuff, which initially took the girl by surprise. She’d been expecting to be sorted into another house, but once she realized her characteristics, she noticed that Hufflepuff was a perfect fit for her. For her first two or three years, she was a bit shy and quiet, only sticking with the people she knew previous to her ‘disappearance’. After that, however, she opened a bit more and became more social and outgoing.

She’s friendly, yes, and outgoing, and all of that fun stuff, but she’s also very cynical and pessimistic. Also, she tends to make bad jokes at bad times, without really thinking about it; it just comes naturally to her.

Astrology

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21) the Scorpion. Fixed, water, yin - planetary rulers: Mars and Pluto. Keywords: "I DESIRE"

Scorpio is the eighth house of the Zodiac and governs the genitalia. Positive traits include magnetic charisma, ambition, drive, a penetrating mind, curiosity, intensity of focus, emotional depth, consistency, persistence, willpower, and the potential for inner transformation and regeneration; negative traits include selfishness, obsessiveness, vindictiveness, hypersensitivity, ruthlessness, cynicism, an inability to understand the word "moderation," and jealousy. It is said that Scorpios embody both the best and the worst of all that are born under the stars, and that there are three kinds of Scorpios: wicked scorpions, cunning serpents, and saintly eagles. What each Scorpio becomes is entirely up to that Scorpio.

Hufflepuff

This is one of the more bizarre signs to get sorted into House Hufflepuff, but every now and then it happens. It's not as contradictory as one would think. Scorpio is perfectly happy to work behind the scenes without getting much recognition, provided that work actually gets something meaningful done and results in personal success; success means different things to different people, and Hufflepuff Scorpios tend to define success as "accomplishment" rather than as "prestige." These Hufflepuffs are indefatigable. They have the energy and the willpower to keep going even when everyone else around them has quit. They are workaholics to an extreme, if they are obsessed with a particular project; otherwise, they are happy to devote their prodigious energies to their family and friends, to whom they are devoted. Scorpio is often associated with the serpents of Aesculapius, demi-god of medicine, and the social orientation and skill at herbals that Hufflepuff wizards exhibit make the Scorpio Hufflepuff a natural healer.
