Abigail Michelle Johansson is the current professor of arithmancy and an alumna of Hufflepuff House. She was born July 6, 1973 in London, England. Abbie is friendly, talkative, and personable, however, she is also quite nervous and lacks confidence in some of her magical abilities. She's a bit flighty and doesn't quite consider herself mature enough to be a professor, although she is extremely knowledgable in the subject that she's teaching. True of any Hufflepuff, Abbie is a hard worker, and expects the same commitment of her students, regardless of their skill level.

Family

Abbie is the youngest daughter of Aliona and Aidan Johansson. She has two sisters, Anna, 39, and Adriana, 34, and a large extended family. Her mother, a Muggleborn witch, worked in Muggle relations with the Ministry of Magic until July 2005, when she retired. Her father, a halfblood wizard, worked as a cursebreaker for Gringotts. Abbie's parents traveled a great deal before she was born (Anna was born in Spain), but settled down in London before the younger two girls were born. Both of her sisters are married and currently work outside of the United Kingdom.

Family is very important to the Johanssons, and for this reason, none of them are sticking their neck out for the side of good. It is more important to protect themselves and their own than to worry about others.

Abbie is a cousin to Abigail McCoy through her paternal grandmother.

Education

Abbie attended Hogwarts from 1984-1991 and was a member of Hufflepuff House. She was a Hufflepuff prefect from her 5th year on. While in school, she excelled in written subjects, particularly Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, History of Magic, and Muggle Studies. Though she was (and continues to be) a very hard worker, the best she could expect in hands-on subjects such as Herbology and Potions was an Acceptable, and she gave those subjects up immediately after taking the OWLs.

Career

After completing her education, Abbie worked for Gringotts as an arithmancer, and spent much of her time traveling. She was called to Hogwarts to teach Arithmancy following the sudden leave of Professor Declan Dillingham. At that time, she was working in Sevilla, Spain.
