Tower Hamlets Cemetery
This is 28 acres of mostly deciduous woodland in the heart of Tower Hamlets. It ceased to be an active cemetery in the early 1960s, and is surrounded by urban sites, mostly residential houses or blocks. It is significant for its breeding sparrowhawks, green and great spotted woodpeckers, long-tailed tits, goldcrest and a selection of commoner woodland species.
