Acton and Southfields parks are two of Ealing's green spaces. Southfields is more properly a recreation ground, and has playing fields (with a winter gull-roost), a small pond, an area of scrub and a running track. Acton Park is mature parkland with a rather lovely arboretum. It has native and ornamental trees and a "nature area" also with a small pond. The Ealing ranger service is headquartered there.
