A recent study examining 141 countries placed Britain as a poor 93rd in the world for energy efficiency and 77th for greenhouse gas emissions. Britain’s performance in this area has been far from desirable with total carbon dioxide emissions in the UK actually increasing between the years 2000 and 2005. This research highlights that Britain is far from being “green” and there is much more that the government need to do in order to get to this position.
