Morie

From Kokorodatabase

Morie is the younger daughter of Namine and Riku, having an elder brother, Kiro, in at least the main Kingdom Chronicles timeline. She is a memory witch, with the ability to alter the chains of memories of those close to her and of those close to them, but is also a Keyblade wielder, not that she's entirely thrilled about either role.

Rie's first appearance in Kokoro is unknown. She's appeared in Mirror occasionally, but not much, though. These days, she doesn't do much dimension hopping, although Charice is known to drag her about from time to time.

Personality

Morie is, for the most part, a rather reserved person. Although friendly and somewhat outgoing, she is more likely to be found lost in her own world, drawing, than she is to be hanging out with friends. This isn't to say that she shuns social activity, per say; she enjoys being with people, but rather, drawing is just a big time consuming habit that's easy to get lost in. Rie isn't the best person to look to for advice, given her limited knowledge of things, and tends to direct people elsewhere, although she knows a lot about art related matters. When it comes to the subject of her powers, the blonde refuses to dilvulge any information, claiming to have no magic of her own. For the most part, she denies that she has any abilities at all.

Although Morie is not fond of being a keyblade wielder, she will step up to the plate and do her best in battle. After all, it'd be wrong of her to simply stand around doing nothing. Wheras Mariel is reckless and rushes forward without a second thought, Rie is calm and calculating, waiting for the right moment to strike. She's been known to haul the elder girl away from battle before, too.

History

Rie is the youngest child of Namine and Riku, having one elder brother, Kiro, in at least the main timeline of Kingdom Chronicles. In Mariel's world, supposedly, she is an only child. Morie doesn't talk about her childhood much, only that it's relatively boring and uneventful. However, some odd time ago as a young child, Rie developed a fear of Atlantica, presumably from a trip Riku took her on at the time. Generally, she's over it for the most part, though the preteen still occasionally has nightmares, which, naturally, she'd rather not talk about.

Royal Majesty

Royal Majesty is the name of Morie's first Keyblade, speculated to be gifted to the preteen by King Mickey, though this has never been played out ICly. It is one of the only Keyblades that, of those with a keychain, do not have it attached to the end of the handle.

At one point in time, Rie gained another Keyblade, but exact data has been lost to time, and Morie only uses Royal Majesty.

Attack and Magic data

  • Ruins of Memory- Destroys the memories of the target. Of course, if she can only alter the memories of those close to her and those who are connected to them, how is this of any use?
  • Cognitive Domain- Creates a small barrier to shield from attacks. Can not protect against major spells, such as Ultima or Apocalypse
  • Fragmented Recollection- Originally the name of her second Keyblade, now an attack. Remembers a random ability long forgotten.
  • Forgotten Path- Unknown

Limit

  • Endless Waltz {used with Mariel}

Alternates

  • Spira- Her name is unknown, but she appears there as a villager in Besaid, the girlfriend of Kanna's alternate.
  • Kingdom Chronicles- No, you're not seeing things. Morie exists in an alternate timeline as well, the best friend of Sora and Kairi's daughter, Mariel. Any siblings she may have is unknown, though.

Lovelife

  • Kanna- Although Kanna is supposedly with Allie in Kokoro-verse, there's still RiexKanna in, er...some versions of KC. It's not really known why they like each other, though it may have to do with the fact that both are sane.

Friends

Mariel

In an alternate timeline, the two girls are the best of friends, and nearly inseperable, given that they grew up supposedly as only children in their families. Or at least it's assumed that Mariel is an only child. However, at the same time, they don't get along well in battle, as while Morie is patient and observant, Mariel is headstrong and rushes into the fray without thinking.

Trivia

  • Morie used to have a different outfit. This is nothing new, though. The papou fruit hairclip, though, remains. Her current outfit, minus the papou hair clip, is based on artwork done by Gaia user evermore_crystal of a redesigned Namine
  • Morie and Mariel's team attack, Endless Waltz, is both a reference to a Gundam Wing offshoot and Riku and Sora's team attack, Endless Session.
  • Tsu did not just recently discover the above fact. Honest.
  • Mari and Rie's ages are the reverse of Sora and Riku's. No real reason, other than Tsu's odd habit of switching ages around to make it more amusing
  • A former player at KC once referred to children of a Nobody and a Human as 'Half-Hearted'. Incidentally enough, this is now the 'rank' of sorts for these children on the boards.
  • Rie has a fear of Atlantica and singing fish in general. This does not mean she avoids the ocean back home, though, or that she can't swim. To be frank, she's better at it than Mariel.
  • It's unknown if there's some sort of special connection between the two girls. They're not exactly a Nobody and a Somebody, but perhaps with their powers combined they can summon Captain Planet, they'd be a formidable force of sorts
  • And to be frank, if you want to go down that route, Mariel arguably would have a connection to Roxas' daughter, Aubrey, as Bree is an only child in that timeline.
  • Morie's theme is stars; Mariel's is hearts. There's no real rhyme or reason to this
  • Both girls prefer to avoid Rakka whenever possible, even if she isn't as bad as her Spira counterpart. After all, Rakka's plans, well meaning as they are, tend to lead to trouble or disaster.
