Fourth Wall Breaking

When characters talk about being in an anime or roleplay, they are breaking the fourth wall. This includes anything that acknowledges a world beyond theirs, scripts and their numbers, retcons, inactivity, how they are supposed to act, or anything "behind the scenes".
