A term introduced by Saica, usually used to referring humans who have been injected with DNA of various animals, but the DNA turned out to not be compatible. This results in unstable DNA; mostly, this takes part in the roleplay with time limits that the humans can stay in their animal forms. However, there have been other side effects, mainly seen with Shirogane Ryou.

There have been loopholes to combat the unstablility of the DNA. For reasons still quite unknown, having magic in your blood somehow stabilizes the DNA. Also, not being human has been said to help stabilize it, though since most known gijinkas are human, the credibility of this is unknown.

[edit] Trivia

  • No, Saica did not come up with this term. In the Digimon fandom (or any fandom in general), the term 'gijinka' is used to refer to a humanoid version of any animal; usually, the human!digimon would still have some of their animal parts, such as a tail, a ring, or their ears. Out of pure boredom, she just used the term in the Kokoro messageboard, and it's been used in the fandom ever since.
