History
Before Kokoro
Daichi moved out of his home to try his luck in the field of science. He has thoroughly studied the Mew Project and wishes to surpass Shirogane Ryou in the field of technology. His hope is that he will one day be able to cure his younger sister who has been handicapped since birth.
Kokoro Days
Daichi met Shirogane Ichigo when she burnt something in the apartment kitchen and set off the fire alarm; he happened by and cracked a window to let out the resulting smoke. Daichi resides in one of the neighboring apartments. He later visits the cafe, revealing himself to be learned in science and Ryou's experiments. He also claims to be a Mew Mew, having a mark running all the way around his neck. Daichi apparently injected himself to prove that it could easily be done, however, he alludes to running into trouble with the experiment. His DNA is that of the Tibetan antelope, or "chiru". Not much is known about his family life, but he does have an "emotional" sister who is two years younger.
Daichi was chosen as one of three boys that Kiki Gamu should try to hang out with to help her get over Ryou, although he remains in the dark about this little fact.
Recently Daichi began showing off his robotics skills at Cafe Mew Mew much to Shinga Shikari's dismay (they were typically female robots. He has set to work making his first male robot after his Robo-Ichi got destroyed and Ari warned him about his second robo-maid. He was also enlisted by Shirogane Ryou to help locate and study the aliens, since the civil war on the alien planet has made its way to Earth.

Personality
Generally friendly and laid back, although he can be a bit of a smart alleck. Otherwise, he'll go along with about anything, but he sometimes says things in strange ways - in one instance making the girls think that he was homosexual and later revealing himself to be a Ryou fanboy - or more precisely, someone who wants to be his scientific rival. Daichi tends to keep to himself, but has little trouble meeting new people along the way, thus he likes wandering the city and visiting various stores to watch other people. He's a bit of a pervert at times, and apparently has a doujinshi collection to rival Gamu's.

- Daichi was named after a character in the manga "Kitchen no Ohimesama" who ironically has a brother named Sora.
- His last name is a tribute to idol Nakagawa Shoko who sings the opening theme to the anime "Gurren Lagann". She is also known for being an otaku and adoring cats.
- Some of Daichi's interests were stolen from a male friend of the authoress.
