A Renaldi, by definition, is a variation of the name 'Rinaldi', which means "advice to rule". In a way, this fits the Renaldi. What is a Renaldi, you might ask?

In Kokoro, a Renaldi is a human without magic that has been let in on the secrets of the magical world, and has not had a memory wipe to remove such knowledge. Renaldis exist for various reasons, the main one being that one was a 'normal human' while the rest of his/her family were mages. As a result, that person would be granted the title of Renaldi. In other cases, the person would soon marry in a magical family in one dimension or another, or he/she would be a threat to the safety of the magical world if given a memory wipe.

Whether a Renaldi gains powers or not as a result of having the title bestowed on him/her is unknown. So far, the only known result of gaining powers was a case where the person didn't have magic due to a magical curse.

However, to be honest: at the moment, it's really just a fancy title. While it can unofficially be not used, the government will still classify him or her as a Renaldi. An example would be Jishou, who wishes to still be known as a "norm" by his mage friends.
