Takaishi Sora is the younger of two children born to Shinga Kasumi and Takaishi Sunase, the cousin of [[Shinga Shikari]], and former mentor in magic to [[The Star Six]] and [[Shirogane Ryou]]. Though Sora is mainly a minor character, he still makes the occasional appearance, usually to tell the crowd about something in [[Magical World|his world]] when his cousin is unable to visit, to teach Ryou a new spell, or just when he's got nothing else to do. Ironically, though, he's probably the only single person who actually cares about having a girlfriend..
==History== 
===Before Kokoro=== 
Sorren was born to two loving parents. However, since his father was half Japanese, half English, while his mother was completely Japanese, it was his father who gave him a name of English origins. As a result, he was soon given the nickname of Sora so that it would be easier for the rest of the Japanese-speaking country to pronounce his name. 

His life, for the most part, was normal. Sora possessed great potential for being an excellent water mage, so he took higher grade courses in magic. The boy's schoolwork, however, was pretty average - he wasn't failing it, but he wasn't the top student in the class either. 

Because of this, the school let him lecture to beginning students once in a while on various types of magic. He was skilled enough, and besides - in high school, it didn't interfere with his courses. Two years ago, his lectures on teamwork and friendship actually brought the mages in Kokoro together, though he didn't quite know it at the time. 

Sor soon found himself a part of the group, but didn't pull out as he found it amusing. Being a part of this group would soon connect him to the cafe, as the other mages had their own reasons for going in, as he later found out. 

=== Kokoro Days ===
Sora didn't have much of a role in Kokoro, other than acting as Ryou's mentor in time magic. He occasionally appeared from time to time, but otherwise was just there when no other mage was around. 

As time progressed, and revealed that Sora and Roy were good friends, then Sora played a bigger role when it came to Ryou and school. Being a popular student, it was Sor who managed to get Ryou the current status that he has at Hoshizen (for instance, sitting with the seniors at chapel, or hanging out with them at the den). Likewise, Jishou came into Sora's life, though they weren't originally on good terms: Jishou was determined to get a new lab hand, Sora was determined to get out of here. 

Soon, the two came to a compromise, and Sor studied astronomy for a couple of years under Jishou's wing.

It's also known that Sora is one of the few mages (the others being Shirogane Inori and Nikkou) that knows about Gamu's secret. However, he has not told the other mages, nor has he exploited it to his advantage. Instead, he's oddly kept it a secret as he gained a girlfriend from school, Kiri, who's attending Tokyo U with him.

At the moment, Sora lives in a dorm with his new friends, and has chosen to major in Economics at Tokyo U. While he likes science, it was never his strong point.  

When Gamu was injured, Sora went to go visit her as he normally did. Though it was originally as friends, he suddenly and unexpectedly kissed her. Much to his dismay, "no sparks flew" - he truly wasn't as attracted to her as he thought. He had been more attracted to her bad girl nature than her as a person. 

As a joke, he decided to date [[Nakagawa Daichi]]. There had been rumors about his sexual preference, anyways, thanks to his bad luck with women. Though it had originally been for April Fool's, it lasted longer than normal. Sora grew bored of it and decided that he was probably straight anyways. He gained yet another girlfriend and passed his freshman year with flying colors. 

Sora was revealed to be Ryou's time magic teacher this summer too. It's unknown how exactly the classes are going, but Sora promised he'd make them easier than his past classes in terms of paperwork.

=== Kokoro Draft Future===
Sora's future was never really planned in any dimension. It's assumed that he married and had children like everyone else, but his profession is still unknown, as well as where he lives. (It is assumed that he still lives in Tokyo, but he could have moved to Hiroshima) 

=== Other-Worldly Counterparts ===
[[Kingdom Chronicles]]: Here, Sorren is the oldest of Sora and Kairi's two children in the main timeline with Shikari as his younger sister. Not only does he have Lightning McQueen as his gummi ship, but he's a special keyblade bearer to boot. He's not happy with either gift, as he just wants to be a normal kid with a normal life and a normal girlfriend. He might not be having much fun right now, but his Purge ability's come in handy more than a few times now. Like the Kokoro Sora, Ren's also been rather unlucky in love in that he has no formal love interest. 

[[Chrono Mew Mew]]: In this dinension, Sor seemingly took over Keiichiro's role as he and the two Shirogane boys, [[Shirogane Kyr|Kyr]] and [[Chrono Mew Mew#Residents|Takeru]], worked on the new Mew Project. While he is an adult with children, the brunet still seems to hold an important role as the secret-keeper, as he stepped down from the Project when it began again.

== Personality ==
From a first glance, Sora seems pretty studious and serious. While he does tend to take things more seriously than others, the teen is actually a pretty easygoing boy. While he doesn't care as much about some things than others would, he knows his priorities and where he's heading in the world. Thus, he lets life drive him most of the time. 

He can keep his calm easily, and tends to let people talk to him normally. When others talk, Sor listens. That's not an easy feat, some would say, but it comes naturally to him. In return, he can get people to listen to him when he needs to. 

Sor's main weaknesses are his friends and his family, who he would do anything for. The water mage, however, dispises slimy objects and won't even go near anything of the sort. 

=== Lovelife ===
* [[Sakuraba Kiri]]: One of Sora's former girlfriends. Kiri was an old childhood friend of Sora's, having attended Hoshizen (and now Toudai) with him. Ari was right when she called Kiri Sora's "girlfriend of the month" - they didn't stay together longer than half a year. While that's a record for Sora, he's been definitely unlucky in love. He and Kiri currently suffer from an on-off relationship. 

* [[Kiki Gamu]]: Sora harbored a crush on her for heavens-knows-how-long. While he did finally kiss her, it confirmed one thing that Sora had been thinking about for a while. No sparks had flown - thus, he had been simply attracted to her bad girl nature. He moved on. 

* Sora will date pretty much every girl in existence (unless their names are [[Shinga Shikari]], [[Shimizu Arisa]] and [[Kazeno Hikari]]) at this point. If there's a minor character in Kokoro, chances are that he has dated her or is currently thinking of dating her.

* <b>Torrent's Sword:</b> A long, silver sword with a sea blue gradient-colored handle. In times of need, Sora can unlock the jewel embedded just below the handle and unleash a giant burst of pure water at the world.

===Abilities===
* <i>Water Control:</i> Sor's able to control forms of water, such as small waves in the ocean or the water in a bird bath. While he's still not able to control the entire ocean, he can easily control a body of water like lakes or pools without draining much of his energy. Because of this ability, Sora no longer gets wet in the rain (or hit by hail). 

* <i>Dimension Hop:</i> Unlike the other mages, Sor's gotten to the level where he can take others to other dimensions simply by willing it. At this point, Sor can currently take two-three other people without draining any of his energy. 

* <i>Combinations:</i> Sor can easily combine two types of weak spells to form new ones; the other mages call them 'mini unisons'. (An example would be his old attack 'Time's Wave', which combines the basic spells <u>Slow</u> and <u>Water</u>.)

* <i>Healing Source:</i> Anytime a water elemental attack hits him, Sora is healed by them. If it's a time-elemental spell, Sora usually receives the benefits of helpful ones. If it's negative, the spell is almost always nullified.

* <b>Spiral Wave</b>: Sor sends a sprial-shaped stream of water at the foe. 

* <b>Tidal Shores</b>: Sor floods the arena, causing his foes to be thrown over by multiple tidal waves

* <b>Silence</b>: Silences a person's voice, making them unable to speak for the rest of the battle.

== Trivia ==
* Sora's last name was originally Takahashi. However, this was quickly retconned to Takaishi when it caused problems, as another member on the site that Sora originally appeared on had the same last name. 
* More recently, Sora's first name was retconned to 'Sorren', as he is an alternate of the [[Kingdom Chronicles]] Ren. This was also supposedly to negate the 'Sora clone' vibes, but they're still there.
