Han Solo, notorious ex-space pirate and owner of the legendary ''Millenium Falcon'', is now commited to rebuilding the New Republic, and is an invaluable ally. Chewbacca is the Wookiee co-pilot and best friend of Han Solo. He takes a backseat in this paticular story, though still serves a pivotal role commanding the ''Millenium Falcon'' without Solo's assistance in an emergency situation in the story. He plays a far bigger role in the second part of the series. The Remnant Threat
Most of the characters in the story are from the actual continuity of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars developed by George Lucas. As the story is based but a few years after The Return Of The Jedi, most of the main characters remain. Protagonsists
Luke Skywalker
Luke is beginning to recruit young Jedi and is in the process of training his twin sister Leia in the ways of the Force (Read about her later)in the story, he has to investigate mysterious happenings surrounding a rogue Imperial figure, accompanied by the fiesty astromech droid R2D2. As a Jedi Master, the story sees him wielding his lightsaber yet again, although quite reluctantly.
