Chewbacca is the Wookiee co-pilot and best friend of Han Solo. He takes a backseat in this paticular story, though still serves a pivotal role commanding the ''Millenium Falcon'' without Solo's assistance in an emergency situation in the story. He plays a far bigger role in the second part of the series. Sadly, his bowcaster skill comes not to much use in the first third of the Grand Marshal tripdych.

After many instances of service in plenty of Rebel crafts, R2-D2 is far from retirement, due to the new threat to the safety of the new New Order. He is still the astromech of Luke Skywalker in the story, and is usually quick to comment on any situation with an interjecting "beep beede beep beep beep." He accompanies Luke on an important mission, proving as important as he was before.
