Colonization Etiquette
From Inselkampf
Colonisation Etiquette or Ce-v1 was a voluntary code, voluntarily undertaken and enforced by many larger players and alliances in the .co.uk version of Inselkampf.

Inception
The 'code' was devised by BBQWarrior, Cmmccann and Grover234 in .co.uk. At the time as the three largest players on the server their opinion carried alot of weight. The largest alliance in .co.uk the Firefox interplay also enforced the rule. Ce-v1 is no longer adhered to in .co.uk although some alliances insist on it including the Vikings who control the north eastern oceans of the server.
Most players opted out of the 36 hours rule (see point 6). The policy eventually was toned-down to a basic policy of 'no cats with colo ships' and later only really used on low point isles.
Aims
The primary aim was to protect smaller players from bullying and allow smaller players the opportunity to take isles made unnowned in the Tsunami, evening the playing feild.
Critiscm
Many believe that CE-V1 "killed" the .co.uk server as colonization disputes are the main source of friction and without them a culture of peace and diplomacy over action became the norm in .co.uk.
In retrospect it would appear that cmccann, Grover234 and BBQWarrior proposed and enforced the rule in their own interests. There entire strategy was based upon massive, constant, and mainly peaceful expansion, in the main colonising tsunamied and unnowned isles. Between them they had about 4000 isles at the time they left the game.

"Colonizing Etiquette" version 1 aka CE-v1
I would like to recommend a colonizing etiquette for those who are performing non-aggressive colonizing. This includes un-ruled isles and inactive colonies.
THIS IS NOT TO BE USED WHILE AT WAR! (apparently, this wasn't obvious, so it is now included. 1/16/06)
Those who agree to the rules will put a "Agree to CE-v1" on their personal page. Alliance's that agree will put it on their alliance page with a link to the web page (or this forum) that has the rules.
- Never send catapults with your colony ship, send them in a seperate fleet.
- Catapult Fleets should arrive 2 hours or more before the arrival of the Colonisation Fleet.
- Isles with a Main House already at Level 1 do not ever require catapults to colonize, so don't send any.
- Check the target isle before sending both Colonisation Fleets or Catapult Fleets to ensure the isle has not already been taken.
- If the colony has been taken and you have fleets in route, warn the other player of what is coming.
- Do not send military on the newly colonised isle for 36 hours. This prevents others who attempted to colonize from destroying eachother.
- The Main House should be upgraded to level 2 as soon as the isle is colonised. This will prevent you from losing the colony.
- If you lose the colony and no rules violated, you lose the colony.
- If you lose the colony, but above rules violated, compensation will be made equal to the cost of what was lost.
Added 12/28/05 - (Those who follow CE-v1 do not need to apply the rules if the other person does not agree to CE-v1. They had to have stated it on their page before the attack happened.)
