The Art of Plundering

To plunder other islands is highly profitable. First you need a HARBOUR and at least a couple of large warships, small merchant ships, a few stone throwers and spearfighters.

Rules Of Engagement

1. Don't attack islands that have an active ruler! Members of the [Empire] don't plunder from much weaker players who just try to start their own nations. This is against our Code of Honor.

2. Never attack an island that belongs to an Alliance that has a pact or peace treaty with us.

3. There are low-score islands out there that have a ruler but seem to be inactive. You can plunder from those islands as well:

  • after you made sure that they don't belong to Alliances with whom we have a treaty or pact.
  • after you send the owner a mail asking him/her if the account is still active. You can check via our Outbox if the email is ever read. If it is read or you get a response then you know that the island is in fact active. I then usually apologize for plundering and drop this particular island from my list, which is similar to what Toxins described above.

Keeping this in mind open the -> Map and scan your surroundings for rulerless islands. Plundering only pays off if you don't suffer any losses yourself during an attack. There are several "no-loss" combinations, which I will share with you. P

Be aware that those combinations are confidential and don't share them with anyone outside of our Alliance.

No-Loss combinations

If you attack a undefended island then use the following combinations of ships and troops so that you suffer no loss:

The classic 3-3-3-3 (takes away 600 resources max) This is the one you will find most useful: 3 LWS, 3 SMS, 3 Stony, 3 Spear This works with any multiple of 3 (i.e. 9-9-9-9)

The LWS-saving 2-3-3-3 is also a working combination discovered by GUSmac

The "minimalistic" plunder (takes away 500 resources but is slower than 3-3-3-3) 1 LWS, 1 SWS, 1 LMS, 1 stony, 1 spear

The 6-6 "no-army plunder" (very effective: takes away 1200 resources) 6 LWS 6 SMS with no troops This also works with 12 ships

There is another combination that I've never tried myself, but we have seen from people who attacked our alliance without losses:

The 5-5-5-5 plunder (takes away 1000 resources): Large Warships 5 Small Warships 5 Small Merchant Ships 5 Spearfighters 5

Toxins advises to keep track of "plunder-able" islands:

Something I do to help me is to write a list of islands that I plunder, and write down the date and time at which I attacked. I can then judge when to send out my next raiding fleet to that island, knowing that it will accrue approximately 200 gold and 150 lumber each day. This is assuming no one else plunders that island of course!

There you go, happy raiding :)
