Ayn Rand (February 2, 1905 – March 6, 1982), born Alisa Zinov'evna Rosenbaum, was a Russian-born Jewish-American author best known for developing the philosophy of objectivism and for writing the novels The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, We the Living, and Anthem.
