The guilds are a part of the Gamerdisclaimer community. Mainly used for role-playing purposes, many guilds have been formed. Currently, most of the guilds are inactive, and guilds usually do not play a big part in community of Gamerdisclaimer. Others than for a few role-playing purposes, there are usually no distinction between members of different guilds. Infact, there are some users that have joined many guilds, and some that have joined none. A notable exception of the guilds would be the Guild of Wordsmith, who plays a role other than roleplaying in creating the Gamerdisclaimer Newsletters.

Ace Combatants,Technomage, Dragons of Fear, Faint of Hearts, Gods of War, Otanime, Random Raiders, Shadows of Arden, and The Elementalists were made during the long period between the forum server change. Springing Tigers was created for no particular reason by the Azuresong Shaman's co-leader, Tudorb. Although many guilds are inactive, many people from the clans still are.
