CW2

2. Wetlands are marshes , swamps, bogs and other similar lands between land and water.

3. Wetlands are used to help remove and retain excessive materials or nutrients from the water.

4. It used to be covered by 95 percent forrest and now it is only covered by 60 percent. Overall it has decreased by a total of 35 percent which is a significant loss.

5. The functions of the forest are to protect the quality of water and to create a hbitat for other animials such as fish and birds. It also improves the quality of the air and many other things.

6. If all of the plankton was removed from the entire system there would be death everywhere because they are the bottom of the food chain and many other animals rely on them for food. If there was too many plankton, it would result in over population and death because they don;t live long.

7. Wetlands are disappearing from out coast lasts at an alarming rate because of air and water pollution which is damaging the system. This is a very large problem that even with our technology we can hardly manage. It happens all arround the country and with the chopping down of tree's for lumber it just add's to the many things destroying our ecosystems.
