Durai
From Egs Mayhem
Contents |
Brief Description
Durai Mage is a Plushie Amon, created by the Chaos Cold, magically animated by Alex & Michael. Therefore Amon is his mother, and Alex & Michael are his fathers. Of course, Michael is also his uncle & his older brother. He's also effectively married to a half-sister, Cara Mage.
Out of all the Plushies, Durai is probably the one that deviates the most from the 'base'. He is also currently in a coma from trying to power-level.
There are currently two Durais running around Mayhem. The first is currently being controlled by the Poster Alex_Mage. The second claims to be the first one, but from about 20 years into the future. As a result, his magical abilities are much more advanced. Alas, he's still a complete Jackass.
Physical Description
He is a 6 inch tall plushie of Amon. However, he is completely correct in all physical details, except that he's made out of cloth and his form doesn't shift constantly. Luckily, Amon being mostly Goo and physically genderless, this isn't an issue.
He also possesses needle-like claws. However, he is far more willing to use them than Amon ever was.
Personality
As stated previously, Durai differs the most from the base out of all his siblings. To put it simply, he's a little shit. Cowardly, selfish, lazy, malicious, manipulative, he is all those and more. However, due to his laziness and cowardice, his malice generally just comes off as mischievousness, as he will say or do things to annoy, offend and/or squick people out as much as possible. Sometimes. Other times he just can't be asked. Also, despite all that, there are times when he is just being playful.
The one exception to all that is his sister/wife Cara, who he truly loves. He would do anything for her, or at least try to, so he attempts to curb his nastiness for her benefit. Not that he is also successful, however, Cara has learnt that physical violence is useful at these times. Interestingly, it was originally Durai that suggested this cause of action. He seems to like it.
Also of note, due to his Antennae, his ideal existence would be stuck in a box with Cara. Unfortunately, she would never accept that. Also, if you haven't guessed yet, he tends to have a short attention span. But not always. He really is quite a random person.
In case you were wondering, his love for Cara does not extend to their adopted son, Marmaduke. However, Durai makes it for Cara's sake. Luckily, Durai is mostly neutral towards Marmaduke, otherwise the poor kid may have grown up with a few issues.
Powers
First of all, Durai has his claws. Retractable, needle like claws. F34R HIM!
Next, his mind is just as resilient as Amon's was. Unless it involves fear, which he is particularly vulnerable to.
Perhaps his greatest power is his OOC Awareness. This is a lot more acute than Amon's, so while Durai can't use it to be an infinite power Godmoder, he can perceive the world as the posters do. He can also search the ways of reality, as it were, giving him access to vast amounts of knowledge. However, he can't retain this knowledge, and can only look at one thing at a time.
Finally, he has his magic, of the EGS tradition. He's Awakened, but not a Wizard. Unfortunately, this is also a potentially dangerous weakness, because if he uses too much magic without recovering his spiritual energy, he will unknowingly tap into his own life force. Obviously, this can be fatal, especially as this doesn't replenish itself naturally.
Spells
- Summon/Dismiss Spell Book: Summons Durai's spell book from Hammerspace, or dismisses it when it is no longer needed. Once summoned, it lasts until dismissed, but if destroyed it is gone for good. Also, any damage that happens to it stays happened. Finally, only the summoning costs spiritual energy.
Future Durai's Spell-Book is too vast to list here. Therefore, the above space will only be used for current Durai, if Alex so desires.

Fanfiction authors, you might just want to start over. Role-players and original fiction authors, at this point your characters are likely to provoke eye-rolling and exclamations of "yeah, right!" from your readers. (Well, at least from me.) Immediate workover is probably in order.
