You hear a strange noise...

It's a faint whooshing, like a wheezing. You pause for a second as a man runs by you, into an alley, before he pops his head back out. He's wearing a ridiculous tweed jacket, fez, and bowtie. His scraggly brown hair covers his forehead. He stops for a moment to look at you.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor. Come with me please." He jogs ahead, mumbling something about missing someone named Clara.
You follow him, curious. At the end of the alley is a blue police box. He jumps inside. You look in, confused. You are astounded by the giant console room inside. You numbly walk in.
"Right, I suppose you'll want an explanation. I'm the Doctor, just the Doctor, don't ask. I'm an alien time traveler who saves planets. This is my time machine, and yes, it is bigger on the inside, thanks for noticing. So, the question. Do you want to come with me to explore the galaxy? Normally I choose a girl, but you'll do."
You find yourself liking this man.
"Yes, I'll go."
"Great, now, just so you know this is dangerous. Just now I was fighting the Daleks, my greatest ene-"
He cuts off as a laser lights his body up. He crumples and behind him is a metal robot with three sticks coming out. As the Doctor crumples to the floor, the robot is surrounded by a light and disappears. You run to the Doctor, concerned.
"Good girl. Thanks for getting rid of him," You get the feeling he is saying this to the machine in the center of the room.
"Doctor...You're dying..."
"Oh, don't be silly. I'm fine. This happens...well, probably more often that for normal people. I'll just regenerate into a new body and-well, you're about to see. Get on the other side of the console."
You do as told. The Doctor's body begins to glow. Light streams off him. There is a flash, and the Doctor...
