You live in rural Nebraska about five miles north of North Platte. It is July, and Nebraska has been in the middle of the worst heat wave in twenty-five years.
Today you toiled in the fields, fertilizing your wheat crop. You work hard, but you’re proud to call yourself a farmer, unlike those lazy folks in the cities who don’t even know where their food comes from.
