From Create Your Own Story

You decide to just close the closet and head down stairs. Across the hall from your room is your brother’s room and to left, at the end of the hall, is your sister’s room. Of course, they’re not your real siblings, but you still call them that, because that’s how it’s been all your life. Both of them are older than you, but not by much. Two months in fact. They’re twins, naturally, but you’re closer to them than either of them are with each other. The two constantly bicker. You decide to head to the right and head down the stairs and greet the family. Thankfully, it’s a Sunday and that mean no tutors. Hooray.

“Morning mom,” you say as you join Jane on the couch.

“Sweety, I really wish you wouldn’t dress like that, you’ll make people uncomfortable.” Jane says as she avoids looking at your bare chest.

“What, do I make you uncomfortable? Do you want to me to get closer for you? Maybe make you more uncomfortable?” You tease as you lay back on the couch.

“No, just nevermind. Here, I got you something. Don’t worry about the price, It’s your 18th birthday and all.” She reaches under the couch and pulls out a cellphone, pre-updated and charged.

“Wo... wow... thanks so much,” you scream in excitement, “but didn’t Dale say I wasn’t allowed to have one?” you begin fiddling with the apps in amazement.

“Oh shush, he will warm up to it, after all you’re an adult now and you need a cellphone. My number should be already be in the contacts, why don’t you try giving me a call?” You closely navigate through the phone and manage to get the hang of things. The phone call didn’t surprise you, after all you’ve seen phones in action before, but it felt good to finally make a call of your own. “Now, I’ve got things to do today so you’re on your own. Dale should be home around 1 for lunch so if you go anywhere, make sure to be home by then.” With that, Jane heads off and leaves you alone.
