Apologize and get back in line

You grovel and the bouncer removes his heavy hand from your head. You slink away and get back in line.
"Excuse me," says the man behind you. "Pardon me for saying this, but that was a bit foolish. You're lucky he didn't snap you in two."
"What's your point?" you ask.
"Before you sneak in, the bouncer needs to be distracted," the man says.
He removes his top hat and pulls a white rabbit out of it.
"Here's the plan," the man says. "I'm a tad cowardly, so I want to see if this works before trying it myself. I'm going to release a flock of pigeons that will fly in the bouncer's face. While he's swatting at them, you run inside. If you get through, I'll try doing it myself."
