You open the door and see your mom watching some program on TV that you don't recognize. You don't know if your mom has been seeing anyone since your dad left you two years ago, but it is possible. For all you knew, she went out and was getting laid on a regular basis. Then again, she may not have had any sex at all. Either way, you don't care at the moment. She doesn't come across as if she is following the program on TV too closely, so you test your luck. You say, "Mom, you really have to check out this game." Somehow, you know you have to get her to see the same thing you saw.
Your mom looks at you with a hint of relief in her eyes. You used to tell her about your games, but have grown distant as you got older. She says, "Sounds good. It has to be better than this." She points to the TV, then gets up.
