Your shouting match with the Portuguese captain goes on for about two minutes. The sailors begin to argue heatedly among themselves, apparently split between those loyal to the captain and those who just want to survive. Finally, Raquel shoots the captain in the head with a yawn of boredom.

"Better get on board now," she drawls lazily. "Your feet are getting wet."

The Portuguese sailors obey, relieved to have someone else decide for them. Unfortunately, trying to salvage the cargo would be suicide by now. The galleon sinks less than half a minute after the last Portuguese sailor steps aboard Midnight. Many of your men mutter with frustration, and YOU LOSE 1 AUTHORITY POINT.

"Hey, who's that?" asks Roderigo, pointing at one of the captives, a well-dressed girl of about eighteen.

"Um, hi, my name's Maria, sir," she stammers, obviously frightened by your crew. "Don't hurt me please, my father's a very rich merchant. He'll pay you a lot if you bring me back to him."

Which brings you to an important question: What to do with the captives? Some of your men advise you to have them walk the plank, while others say they could use extra hands.

Ransom Maria and have the sailors walk the plank

Ransom Maria and force the sailors into service

Have all captives walk the plank

Force all captives into service
