Without saying a word, you set your laser baton to burst and mow down the cultists. It's a neat kill. Papa would be proud.
The glowing blue light is still there. You see the source is a gaseous ball of energy. A black eye appears at the center of the ball. You hear a voice say:
"Thank you. It so tires me to be summoned to this plane of existence. I would have devoured these cultists myself, but you have saved me the trouble. In return, I shall touch your mind and drive you insane. Such are the rewards of Cthulhu!"
