The noise was the police. It turns out that someone thought to call them when they saw you abduct an 11-year-old boy and take him down a dark alley. An officer comes around the dumpster as you pick yourself up to investigate the noise. He shoots you in the forehead and your blood spatters all around the alley on the wall, on the officer, and on the boy.
