Without speaking, you gently take the saw from his hands. Sure enough, it seems to be significantly sharper than your sword, although it is also much heavier and difficult to handle.
The blade, you find, can in fact cut through metal. With a few strokes, you manage to make a groove in the chain, although you don't break it.
