You take a magazine out of your bag and start hitting the ratty excuse for a dog until it squeals like a pig in an abattoir. Limping, it retreats to the safety of a small kennel.
You wipe the blood off the magazine and your leg, then drop the mail for the house in the front porch and continue with your rounds, cussing at the pathetic pooch as you leave.
When you get back to the depot one of the guys in the sorting office takes you to one side, "Mel wants to see you. Someone's complained. What have you been up to?"
