You can't decide on any proper strategy before tripping on your own feet, and cascading down the stairs like a goddamn boulder that you are. All of the hooded people are knocked over again, and most of them probably die. You, on the other hand, roll all the way down the stairs, back up the altar stairs and into the cage where you began. You hit the back of the rusted metal cage, and it collapses onto you. Your neck is pierced by a rusty metal pipe. You die.
