Nurse Heather

Many nurses have the patient use their first name. I intentionally had her do this to indicate she is one of those friendly sort of nurses who wants the children under her care to like her, be happy, and feel safe. This was specifically contrasted with the more formal doctor who uses her last name with the patient. I know from my own visits to hospitals, while the doctors may mention their first name when first introducing themselves, they all went by their last names. The nurses, on the other hand, used their first names exclusively with me and I only learned their last names by reading it off their badges.
