"Hi," you casually say as you sit down next to her. "I'm Jack."
She turns to you and flashes her perfect smile keenly. "I'm Amanda."
"What are you reading?" you ask.
"Not much, just the Art of War."
"Really...for a class or for fun?"
"For fun," she says. Your smile fades. "Kidding!" she says. "So are you a junior too, or a really cute and muscular sophmore?"
"Actually...I'm a freshman." you laugh.
"Really? You're really muscualar looking." she says in disbelief.
"Nah, not really." you say modestly.
"Really. I bet you could lift up the bench I'm sitting on. Go ahead and try it." she dares.
"Ok."
You climb underneath the bench and find the center with your hands. "Are you in the exact middle of the bench?" you call up to her.
"Yes." she says.
Mataki, Dan, Josh, and their girls watch in interest as you push the bench in the air. You hold it balanced and manage to get up on your knees. You decide to be a showboat and stand up with her lifted over your head.
"Jack is da MAN!" Dan shouts.
"That's my boy!" Josh claps.
Mataki shouts something crazy in Japanese. "I mean Jack is da PIMP." he says.
You slowly put Amanda back to the ground. "Wow." she says. She signals to her other two friends. "We should all go to a movie."
"We're in." Josh and Dan say.
"Definitley." Mataki says.
