Engage the Axeman
From Create Your Own Story
I'll deal with that archer later I thought to myself as I engaged the bandit before me. He brought back his axe, the arc of his swing clearly meant to free me of my head, but I ducked underneath his swing and drove my blade up through his abdomen and out between his shoulder blades. I kicked him off of my weapon, and he fell back, coughing out blood as he breathed his last. +4 health.
The far archer loosed an arrow towards me, and the head of the arrow buried itself into my right shoulder. -5 health. I grimaced at the pain, and my eyes narrowed on my quarry. You'll regret that.
I closed the distance between us as I surged towards him, and my quarry dropped his bow to draw forth his steel, but his sword was of little concern to me. Two deft strikes ended his sorry existence: one to disarm him of his sword arm and one to free him of his head. +4 health.
Blood stained my clothes, and a distant part of me, the part that bothered with appearances, was deeply disgusted. But not enough of me cared as I dined upon their remains.
It's been so long since I've tasted the sweet tang of blood. Though these sour men were no fine course meal, they would do quite nicely.
You are healed back to full health.
You have gained 40 xp and 6 Gold for killing the bandits.
Now, the question is, what do I do now? The hour was growing late, and already the sun was starting to set.
