"Maybe some other time," you say to yourself as you put your phone back in your pocket and proceed to Maya's building and climb to her floor. As you reach her door, sudden nervousness overtakes you. What if she isn't interested? You push past your fears and knock.
Maya answers the door after a minute or so. She looks even more beautiful than usual, if possible. She's wearing her silky hair down, and she's wearing a dark red tank top with tight blue jeans that accentuate how petite she really is. She has to tilt her head back significantly to look up at you, and she blinks nervously.
"David? Hi... um, how have you been?" she stammers softly. She glances away shyly, but her eyes keep returning to you.
"I'm doing well, Maya. I thought I'd come to see you now that the semester is finally over." you reply casually.
"Can I... I mean... Do you want to come in?"
Maya steps to the side, biting her lip and glancing away as you walk into her dorm room. The place is neatly kept, with everything in its proper place except for the paperback novel and glass of orange juice on Maya's desk. After glancing around, you turn back to Maya as she closes the door and returns her attention to you.
What do you say?
"Maya, I came to ask you if you would like to go out with me for coffee?"
