There aren't a lot of people out where your stepdad's farm is, so you don't see any cars on the road. After you've walked for about an hour, you stop to rest for a minute and notice a loose thread hanging down from the bottom of your shirt. You grab the thread and try to pull it out. Of course, it's a lot longer than you expected, and when you pull the thread out you end up making the front of your shirt even shorter. Now it just barely covers your nipples.
