Dive in and retrieve the ring?
From Create Your Own Story
Without another thought your hand shoots into the cold clear water and grasps the ring. As your skin touches the metal you can already feel that there is something quite odd about this ring. There is a sinister feel to it. As if it belongs in the hands of evil.
As your hands comes back out of the water the air around you picks up into a light swirling wind. There is still a very odd feeling about this entire scenario. Part of you thinks it not right but another part still believes that this may be your chance at fame.
But at what cost?
You fingers open slowly to reviel the ring. The gold still attracts light like a magnet. The shiny metal glimmers in your hand as you examine your quarry. The very look of the ring is hypnotizing. You feel greedy and selfish for the very first time in your life. In shock at this observation you drop the ring into the boat. As it rolls to the other side you can help but to stare at the ring in wonder. What were these feelings that stood dormant in your chest all these years? It seemed like your heart was yearning for the ring again. As if you had to touch it. Otherwise you may never know happiness again.
Quickly you extract a handkerchief from your pocket. You carefully lean over and wrap the ring in the thin cloth before you place it in your pocket. As you continue to fish you can still feel the ring in your pocket. That lump of cloth next to your leg. The ring seemed to be beckoning to you. Begging you to take it out again. Willing to you to put the ring on your finger. As if it belong there.
You try, with all your might, to force these thoughts from your mind. Still, the memory haunts the back of your brain like a plague. It sits there biding it time. Whispering sweet nothings to you until you go perfectly mad.
