"Do they always do that?" you ask, looking at Sakura and Ino whispering fiercely, probably about you. "I'm probably going to get a bad beating from them after talking to you, huh?"

Sasuke shrugs. You notice that he hadn't left you even though you stopped talking about what he had come to talk about. You suddenly smile. He sees your smile then looks away, clearly uncomfortable.

"I can take them," you say arrogantly, rolling your shoulders.

"Don't get reckless." Sasuke's reply is so unexpected, you flick your eyes to meet his. Is he actually worried? "Don't underestimate those girls. They're stronger than they look."

You chuckle. "Don't underestimate me. I'm stronger than I look."

Sasuke's eyes flick over you so fast, you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't accustomed to using your eyes. "I guess..."

"You're not as evil as you make yourself look," you smirk. Sasuke's eyes darken. You meet his stare seriously. He looks away. Your mouth gapes open. Did I... just beat an Uchiha in a staring contest? You're so excited to tell Neji, you excuse yourself from the table. "I'll see you tomorrow at lunch," you tell Sasuke. "I've heard you've got a reputation for skipping all your afternoon classes."

A flash of amusement glints into Sasuke's eyes, but it's gone quickly.
