Oh dear. You explain it fast to Doc. There's no time to talk - you're back in front of the judge.

Doc moves for a continuance so you can locate a witness, Miss Whitley Chambers. The judge notes she was on your witness list, and asks why she isn't here, and where is she? Well, he admits, she's apparently headed off to the big city in order to make porn. And has she been subpoenaed? Well, no. There didn't seem to be a need. She was ready to come on her own up until now.

The judge is quite clear on this point: after being barraged with Doc's endless torrent of speedy trial demands, he is going to give you that speedy trial. He is not going to delay this case while you and Doc go searching through the seamy world of porn like George C. Scott in Hardcore. (Whatever he's talking about is before your time. But you get the gist.) The jury is going to be called back in and the trial is going to proceed - does he make himself clear?

Doc says he does. The judge says he's glad - he likes to make himself clear to people. The jury comes back in. It's time for the final defense witness.
