It is not your place to question orders or regulations. As a soldier of a democratic nation, your job is to obey orders and work toward the best result for the Republic. You do not have to worry yourself about morality and the "soul" of the Republic, for that is a job for Jedi and politicians. Havoc Squad, the Republic's top special forces unit, exists solely to protect the Republic. As long as you are doing your job and not breaking any regulations or laws, nobody at the top will care about things like "professionalism" and "conduct." In fact, they may even let you bend the letter of the law a little if you should choose.
