You and the other townsfolk march out of the hamlet with conviction and begin to navigate the darkening forest by the light of torches and lanterns. It will be at least half a mile to the cliffside on which lies a small path to the citadel.
Not long into the trek, you detect canine barking accompanied by the rustling of underbrush - distant, but heading quickly in your direction from the left. The group stops to brace itself shortly before several large hounds come crashing into sight and attack. One takes hold of your leg and begins to shake violently.
