I think he's abandoned it, so if you want to pick up where he left off there's no one to stop you (though you could leave him a message just in case). He's only provided a basic premise so you'd be able to take the story whatever direction you choose. I like having a base to start out on if I'm going to write, but everybody's different! Interstellar Desire: WIP stories probably don't belong on the Main Page
I'm moving your story The Interstellar Desire off of the main page and onto All Adult Stories/I. Generally, short or unfinished works don't go on the main page. Feel free to move it back once your story has reached 300+ pages (or completion).
Also, I noticed another story with a similar concept started not too long ago: Offworld Romance by User:AndreiVem.
