You don't want to risk getting hit while running and think it's safer to stay on the ground. You position yourself in a more defensive way but it doesn't help. You hear a cannon fire off and seconds later you see blood, dust, dirt, and one of your legs fly from your body. The pain is excruciating. You cry out holding whats left of your leg. You sit up and right as you do so a bullet pieces you in the back. Pain runs all through your body and you loosen up, falling backwards. Everything goes black before you hit the cold and bloody ground.
