Gate was a slight exaggeration. The western entrance to Sandgem was rarely used, and it wasn't like there was anything to dangerous on this side of town. The old stone wall was moss covered and falling apart, the gate not even present. We strolled right on in along an old dirt road.

The place was pretty much deserted. Most of the population came here in the summer to enjoy the warm weather and sandy beaches. It would still be a month or so before the first wave hit. Most of the buildings in this area looked like summer houses, the rest were probably seasonal shops.

It wasn't until we reached the center of town that we started seeing other people. We hurried along until we reached the Pokemon Center. Though our Pokemon were probably fine, the Trainer's Guidebook said to visit the Pokemon Center of every town you reach to make sure they are okay. We did just that, checking in our Pokemon with the Nurse Joy and waiting patiently for her to finish. "It looks like you both have tKen good care of your Pokemon." she said as she gave them back.

"Thank you, mam."

"Do you two need a place to stay for the night?"

"Yes, we just came in from Twinleaf."

"Really? Twinleaf? We just had a boy come through here an hour ago. He sure was a piece of work. It seemed to have rubbed off on his Chimchar. When I asked him if he wanted a place to stay, he became very rude and told me he would rather sleep outside that with the people in Sandgem."

"That's terrible," said Jasmine.

"Well, some just aren't raised right. But anyways, it's that side room over there. If you need anything, just ask."

"Thanks, but I think we'll get something to eat first."
