You keep kicking the door near its lock and finally, after five or six more kicks it finally breaks and swings wide open.
You rush into the room, only to find it empty with the window wide open.
Looking out the window you can see that Valerie has actually jumped down to the front lawn and is attempting to get out to the sidewalk.
It seems however that the jump twisted her ankle, because she can barely walk.
