Winter has arrived, with all the bitter wind and frost covered grass that accompanies it. Your small house is warm, albeit a bit crowded; what with all the cats and chickens and your large hound all occupying the one small room. Today would be the day!
You start every day with this affirmation, and every night you promise yourself the same.
You dress quickly while your wheat mash boils on the fire, dipping your fingers into the frigid water basin to wet your cheeks. The mash goes down quickly and satisfies for for the day ahead.
A quick glance out doors confirms your suspicion that you are running late, and you whistle for your canine friend. He lifts his head from his paws and stares at you dolefully. You frown.
