Dad was acting like a real jack-ass lately. He would be so fucking anal about the minor things. Example? Well, this morning before school, I hadn't made my bed "perfect". So I had to make it again right before I left for school. As I am making it, he throws all the sheets off of the bed, and throws the pillows off, then gives me a dirty look. What the fuck?

Dad was acting like a real jack-ass lately. He would be so fucking anal about minor things. Example? Well, one morning before school, I hadn't made my bed "perfect". So I had to make it again right before I left for school. As I am making it, he throws all the sheets off of the bed, and throws the pillows off, then gives me a dirty look. What the fuck?

As I said, school isn't fun, either. It was Friday, and it was right after lunch. Alex was lucky--we had a test that day--because he sat by me, and he hadn't studied, and I did. So he could just copy.

To hell with that.

I covered my paper the entire 30 minutes of the test as I was going through it. Why should he get the easy way out just because he was lazy?

I think he and I were beginning to grow apart. After what happened, I was beginning to see what my neighborhood had to offer. And I didn't want to take the offer. But they wouldn't take "no" for an answer.

After school Alex caught up with me to walk home. "Dude, what gives?" He began. "You haven't said one word to me all week. It's Friday, man. Come on! We always hang out on the weekend."

"We always used to. I've changed. I'm beginning to see things in people that....that.....I've never seen."

"Like who?"

Should I tell him? I mean, does a friend have the right to know what you don't want to tell him? What you swore not to tell? What if cops get involved? How could that end out in a happy ending?

"My dad." I blurted.

"And what do you see in him that you didn't see before?"

"He.......Look, can't you just leave the topic alone and just except what you already know?"

"But I don't know anything!"

We had reached my house.

"Look, Alex. You're my friend. As a friend, you need to keep your nose out of my shit. Now go home! I don't wanna hang out today."

I watched as he went down the street, not even looking back. Not even worrying, or caring.

What have I done?

To be continued...
