You turn to one of your cellmates and try to talk to him. "I'm Max," says the ape.
"What is this place, Max?" you ask. "Why am I in jail? I didn't do anything, I was just walking around. I'm a traveler."
Max nods his head. "No one's seen a real, live human before. The police are probably calling the local museum."
"What are you in for?" you ask.
"Murder," Max says. "They think I shot my wife."
"But you didn't..." you say.
"'Course not," he replies. "I only shot her boyfriend."
You nod. The other ape approaches you and puts his hand on your shoulder. "My human friend," he says. "My brother is a rich ape. He is the dean of the college in the next city. He might be willing to help you get out of jail...if you'll help us with a little project."
"What are you in here for?" you ask.
"Public drunkenness," he replies.
